Sunand Menon founded New Media Insight in 2005 where he advises the C-Suite on developing innovation-based organizations, and devising and executing innovation programs. He has 20 years of experience in the field of data and analytics-enabled business, product and organizational innovation. He has helped create and manage over $200 million of new businesses for companies such as State Street, inVentiv Health, Iron Mountain, and Boston Globe Media, often serving as their outsourced Chief Innovation Officer or Head of Emerging Businesses.
Sunand is a member of the Board of Directors of GuideStar, and has previously served as Member of Scripps Networks’ Innovation Advisory Board. He is the author of a number of articles on innovation and technology that have been published in Harvard Business Review and Fast Company.
As Global Head of New Ventures at Thomson Reuters, Sunand was responsible for incubating innovative data, analytics and thought leadership-based businesses. He was the founder of Thomson Reuters Indices, which he subsequently grew into a multimillion dollar global licensing and subscription business, before integrating the P&L into the core Thomson Reuters Financial business.
Early in his career, Sunand worked as an engineer at Procter & Gamble, where he was a winner of the “Most Promising Technology Innovation” award, and was the creator and lead trainer of a company-wide predictive analytics training program.
Sunand holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School, and an M.Sc and B.Sc in Chemical Engineering from Delft University in the Netherlands.
